The ARC

2016-  2017

The "Arc" project, developed as part of the Aalto University Product Development Project (PDP) course, was a dynamic and collaborative endeavor spanning 9 months. With a clear objective set by a prominent clothing company, our team of 9 talented individuals embarked on a transformative journey to create a revolutionary 3D body scanning platform and innovative marketing plan. As the project manager, designer, maker, and presenter, my role was to oversee the entire project lifecycle, from research and testing to marketing and business strategy. Our objective was to create a tangible and user-friendly platform that would address the challenges of buying correct clothing sizes, offering the accuracy and time efficiency of a 3D body scanner. With dedicated resources, we designed and meticulously manufactured a fully functional platform that seamlessly integrates into various environments like gyms, malls, and medical centers, adapting to their unique spatial requirements. Getting scanned is effortless—simply step into the platform circle, raise your hand slightly, and let the gentle rotation guide you for 15 seconds. During this time, the sensors discreetly capture precise measurements, providing an accurate 3D model of your body with detailed outlines. The result is that the user has a 3D model of their own body with all their measurements outlined, providing invaluable data for personalized clothing experiences. This innovative platform offers convenience, accuracy, and an enhanced shopping experience, empowering users to make informed decisions about their clothing choices.
